Two Aaron Hernandez associates indicted for murder
Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace also have been charged with the same murder that Aaron Hernandez is accused of committing.
While Aaron Hernandez is stuck behind bars awaiting his trial for the murder of Odin Lloyd, the former Patriots star tight end was dealt some bad legal news Friday.
The Bristol (Mass.) district attorney's office announced Friday, via the Boston Globe, that Hernandez's associates, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, had been indicted for murder by a grand jury. The two previously had been indicted for accessory to murder after the fact.
So, why is this potentially bad news for Hernandez?
With all 3 charged w/murder, prosecutor won't have to prove which was the shooter under MA's joint venture law. Not good for Aaron Hernandez— Wesley Lowery (@WesleyLowery) April 11, 2014
That means that even if a jury decides that Hernandez didn't actually pull the trigger to kill Lloyd, he still could be convicted of the murder.
