Wade Phillips throws shade at Cowboys, Jason Garrett on Twitter
Wade Phillips pointed out on Twitter that he and Jason Garrett have the same number of games coached for the Cowboys. And that he has more wins.
There's a decent chance that Wade Phillips doesn't know exactly how to use Twitter. But he definitely knows how to use Twitter.
And the currently not-employed coach, who once worked as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys before becoming Jerry Jones first midseason fire, rolled out one of the best tweets you'll see this year.
That is some serious shade, y'all.
It's long been known that Phillips has one of the best NFL Twitter handles (@sonofbum) out there. (For my money only Steve Hutchinson, @poisonpill76, is better.)
But that's a fastball he just threw high and tight at Jason Garrett, who replaced Phillips as interim coach, and Jones, who fired Phillips.
Wade's got a point too. He took his team to the playoffs three times and has the same winning percentage (.607) as Cowboys coach that Tom Landry does. Phillips has the same number of wins as Cowboys head coach (34) as Bill Parcells, in eight less games.
Would Phillips have lasted as long as Garrett did with the winning percentage Garrett has? It's debatable.
