Week 5 Injury News: Calvin Johnson, Rob Gronkowski out
A look at the NFL Week 5 injury news.
Luke Joeckel done for season
Jacksonville Jaguars rookie offensive tackle Luke Joeckel suffered a broken ankle during the Week 5 loss at St. Louis Sunday. He will miss the rest of the season, FOX Sports reports.
Blaine Gabbert leaves game with hamstring injury
had to leave Sunday's Week 5 game at St. Louis early in the second half due to a hamstring injury. Gabbert was injured in the first half when he hurt his hand, but remained in the game at that time. He was replaced by Chad Henne.
Gabbert went 9 for 19 for 181 yards and a long 67-yard touchdown to Justin Blackmon in the first quarter. He was also picked off twice in the game, including once in the red zone.
Gabbert, who added three rushes for 6 yards, threw his first touchdown pass of the season on that long play to Blackmon. Still, he has seven picks and may not get back on the field once healthy if Henne impresses the coaching staff.
Miles Austin officially ruled out Week 5
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin was officially ruled inactive for Sunday's Week 5 showdown at home against the Broncos. Austin had been dealing with a hamstring issue, and was unable to practice all week. He has missed back-to-back games.
Michael Vick leaves game with hamstring injury
Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has been replaced by Nick Foles after Vick appeared to suffer a left hamstring injury during the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Giants.
David Wilson scores TD before suffering neck injury
New York Giants running back David Wilson left the game Week 5 vs. Philadelphia at the end of the first quarter with a neck injury, and he will not return. Wilson walked off the field under his own power before being escorted to the locker room.
Wilson was hurt on a carry that resulted in a 3-yard loss on the last play of the first quarter. Wilson was spun down in the Giants' end zone by an Eagles defender, but it was not ruled a safety as the refs ruled Wilson's forward progress was stopped at the 2-yard line.
Wilson had a 5-yard touchdown run in the first quarter before getting hurt. He also had 16 rushing yards on six carries.
Jaguars T Luke Joeckel leaves game with right leg injury
Jacksonville Jaguars rookie tackle Luke Joeckel had his right leg rolled up on and had to leave Sunday's Week 5 game at St. Louis Sunday. Joeckel was down on the field for several minutes before trainers helped him up and placed him on a cart to leave the field. It did not appear as if he would be able to return in the game.
Calvin Johnson surprisingly sidelined by knee injury
Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson was unable to get through pregame warm-ups Sunday, and is officially inactive for Week 5 against the Packers. Johnson was bothered by a knee injury throughout the week.
This is the first regular season inactive for Johnson since 2010.

Jon Beason dresses days after trade
<a href= linebacker <a href= , who was acquired from Carolina Friday, is active for Week 5 vs. Philadelphia. However, how much playing time he receives Week 5 is uncertain, according to the New York Post.
Matthew Slater, Tavon Wilson inactive for New England
Patriots wide receiver Matthew Slater and safety Tavon Wilson are both inactive for the Week 5 game at Cincinnati Sunday. Slater is dealing with a wrist injury after fracturing the wrist in mid-September. Wilson did not travel with the team and was expected to miss the game due to a hamstring injury.
Rob Gronkowski out
Will New England’s star tight end Rob Grokowski finally make his debut this season? The answer to that is no, according to ESPN, which reports that Gronkowski was not on the Patriots plane to Cincinnati and is, therefore, out for this week.
Trumaine McBride starts for Corey Webster Week 5
The <a href= have officially announced running back <a href= as the starter over <a href= and <a href= for the Week 5 game at home against Jacksonville. There is no telling how coach Jeff Fisher will break up the carries, but Stacy is getting the starting nod.
Though Jets receiver Santonio Holmes has added a much-needed offensive weapon this season after missing most of the preseason, he won't be around for Monday's game with the Falcons. The Jets have listed him out on Saturday's injury report, because of a bad foot and hamstring.
Kenny Britt back for Week 5
<a href= wide receiver <a href= , who missed last week with a fractured rib, is active for Week 5 against the Chiefs. He was listed as probable on Friday's injury report after practicing in full all week.
In three games this season, Britt has totaled just five catches for 43 yards. He'll be working with backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is replacing the injured Jake Locker.
Falcons Jackson out
Though this isn't a surprise, Falcons coach Mike Smith said Saturday that running back Steven Jackson (hamstring) is out for Monday's game vs. the Jets.
Jackson probably won't be back until after the Falcons Week 6 bye.
Leon Hall out
<a href= cornerback <a href= is inactive for the Week 5 game on Sunday at home against New England. Hall was considered doubtful for the game due to his hamstring injury.
This week, Hall is still doubtful to play vs. the Patriots with a hamstring injury, while Hall’s replacement, Brandon Ghee , also is doubtful with a thigh injury. Kirkpatrick is questionable.
Falcons wide receiver Roddy White is officially questionable on the injury report for the Week 5 Monday night home game against the Jets, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports. White was limited in practice once again Saturday due to his ankle injury.
White suffered an apparent setback in his last game against New England. White played 97 percent of snaps, but said he learned he isn't where he needed to be in his recovery. White has been limited by his ankle injury all season, despite playing in each of the team's first four games. He has 10 catches for 84 yards and has yet to score.
