Wes Welker was overpaid $15K at Churchill Downs, won't return money
Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker was paid $15,000 more than he should've gotten from Churchill Downs. They want the money back and his response is "get in line."
Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker won so much money at the 2014 Kentucky Derby he walked out the door dishing out $100 bills. One problem: He took in more money than he was supposed to.
According to TMZ, Welker pulled in an extra $15,000 in winnings because of a machine malfunction.
Welker joined the Dan Patrick Show on Friday and, when asked about the malfunction and whether he would hand money back to Churchill Downs, had a very succinct response.
Welker told us that he's not giving Churchill Downs the cash back. "Get in line."— Paul Pabst (@PaulPabst) May 16, 2014
Welker also added Churchill Downs wouldn't have contacted him if he'd been underpaid so it's not fair to demand money in return for a mistake.
While the wideout might have a point, here's betting Churchill Downs doesn't see it that way.
