Winter storm Maximus pounds NYC as NFL barely avoids snow bowl
It's dumping snow in New York and the NFL barely avoided a Super Bowl full of snow.
NEW YORK -- The NFL couldn't have cut it much closer. Before the rowdy Seahawks fans could even go to bed late on Monday morning, nasty weather and winter storm Maximus had descended on New York and dumped snow all over the city.
Some of us lucky folks are sitting in LaGuardia right now suffering through massive airline delays. And it almost hit the Super Bowl -- a shot of Met Life Stadium from Monday morning shows just how close the NFL came to having a Super Snow Bowl on its hands.
The runways are snowed over and Hudson River is completely frozen.
