Bengals wide receiver Andrew Hawkins will be playing for an NFL team in Ohio in 2014, but it might not be in Cincinnati. Hawkins has signed a four-year offer sheet with the Cleveland Browns, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com

Since Hawkins is an unrestricted free agent, the Bengals now have five days to match the offer. If Cincinnati doesn't match what Cleveland's offering, then Hawkins will officially be a Brown. The Bengals are expected to take the full five days to decide. If Hawkins does end up in Cleveland, the Bengals won't receive any compensation.

"Andrew is excited about the prospect of becoming a Cleveland Brown," Hawkins' agent, Craig Schaeffer, told Cleveland.com

Hawkins was given a one-year tender worth $1.431 million from the Bengals, which is considerably less than what Cleveland's offering. According to NFL.com, the Browns offer is worth $12.2 million over four years and includes $4 million in guaranteed money, a number that shows how badly Cleveland could use Hawkins.

After releasing Davone Bess on March 5, the Browns found themselves in the market for a slot receiver and Hawkins would fill that need.

Since signing as an undrafted free agent with the Bengals in 2011, Hawkins has caught a total of 86 passes for 995 yards and four touchdowns.

Hawkins was a favorite target of Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton in 2012, finishing third on the team in receptions (51), receiving yards (533) and touchdown catches (4). However, Hawkins was limited to eight games in 2013 after injuring his ankle during the preseason.
