Current Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks announced Thursday morning that he has joined Roc Nation Sports, which was founded by Jay Z and, according to the website, "focuses on elevating athletes' career on a global scale both on and off the field."

A source tells ProFootballTalk that Nicks, who will be a free agent next month, is hiring CAA to negotiate his next contract while Roc Nation will handle the marketing. Nicks' teammate, Victor Cruz, also uses CAA for negotiations and Roc Nation for marketing.

Nicks played in 15 games last season and had 56 receptions for 896 yards but didn't score a touchdown. He has battled injuries throughout his five-year career, and enters a free-agent wide reciever class that includes Anquan Boldin, Emmanuel Sanders, James Jones, Devin  Hester, Kenny Britt and Jacoby Jones.

Roc Nation Sports' stable of NFL players also includes Jets quarterback Geno Smith.
