| Moreno had surgery after all: After it was reported Knowshon Moreno wouldn't need knee surgery, the Broncos running back underwent an arthroscopic procedure since the end of the season, coach John Fox confirmed Thursday at the NFL combine. The Denver Post reports Moreno underwent a treatment to put stem cells harvested from bone marrow in his pelvis into his right knee, the same knee he tore his ACL in back in 2011. He's currently rehabbing at the team facility in Denver. (Updated 2/21/13) |

| Moreno's future is very much up in the air. On the same day as this news came out, Fox spoke fondly of second-year running back Ronnie Hillman and how he believes the youngster can step into potentially an every-down role for the Broncos. The team also has veteran Willis McGahee on staff. There could be an issue where Moreno, scheduled to make just $1.7 million this year according to NFLPA records, is cut this offseason even though he had some excellent performances late in 2012. For now Moreno's stock is tumbling not just because of his shaky knee but because Fox sounds like he's ready to develop Hillman into a real threat in the offense. (Updated 2/21/13). |
