CB Eric Wright is eager to prove his play late last season was an aberration. Wright was victimized on deep passes late in the season. The time away has helped heal Wright's wounds. He has performed well in the minicamps and the OTAs with tight coverage. During practice Tuesday he intercepted a pass thrown by Brady Quinn. It was ruled incomplete because Wright was out of bounds, but he has stayed with his receiver on deep passes and forced the quarterback to either throw the ball away or look for a different target. "I took some time to get away after last year to rest up and get my body right," Wright said after practice. "It's a brand new season and a brand new situation. That's the way we're looking at it." Wright and Brandon McDonald won the starting cornerback jobs with no competition last year. It won't be that way when training camp starts late next month. Rod Hood, the free agent signed from the Cardinals last week, will contend for a starting job. 64//2009
