Chekwa (thigh) will not play in Saturday's preseason tilt against the Falcons, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Chekwa has not played during the preseason so far and that won't change in the Dolphin's third game, as the corner is still dealing with a thigh injury. Though he returned to practice on Tuesday the team doesn't want to push him too much before he's fully healthy. It's unclear if he'll play in the team's final preseason game, next Thursday against the Titans.
Chekwa has yet to appear in a preseason game as he continues to nurse a lingering thigh injury. The sooner the cornerback can return to full speed the better, as he was pushing for a starting spot over Tony Lippett before he went down with the injury. Chekwa's status for Thursday's preseason tilt with the Falcons is still unknown.
