If so, the
General manager Jerry Dipoto isn't interested, however.
“We’re not interested in him as a baseball player,” Dipoto told MLBlogs' Alden Gonzalez. “We’re going to focus on the guys we have. We have enough going on.”
The Angels would release Locker if he wants to pursue a baseball career. The team signed him two years before Dipoto joined the Angels.
"“We weren’t really on him when I was in Arizona," he said. "Generally with the two-sport guys who we don’t think have interest in being a baseball player we don’t waste our time.”
Locker was the eighth overall pick for the Titans in the 2011 draft. He was quoted as saying,"I no longer have the burning desire necessary to play the game for a living", according to FoxSports.com.
The 26-year-old will finish his time in the NFL with 4,967 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and 22 interceptions.
He left Week 15 against the Jets with the injury after completing 6 of 11 passes for 57 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. He missed three games earlier this season due to injury and lost his starting job to rookie Zach Mettenberger in Week 8.
Locker, who is on the final year of his four-year, $12,586,002 contract, completed 57.5 percent of his passes for 4,967 yards with 27 touchdowns and 22 interceptions through 30 career games with the Titans.
Locker was injured late in the second quarter and went straight to the locker room while favoring his shoulder. Before the injury, Locker completed six of 11 passes for 57 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.
After the game, Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt told reporters Locker could have returned, but he would have been limited.
"He could have come back in, but he probably would have only been able to hand off," Whisenhunt said.
The Titans will play at Jacksonville Thursday.
Locker was favoring his shoulder and his return is questionable.
