Russell Okung should be ready for training camp
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer

Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung underwent offseason surgery on his left foot, but coach Pete Carroll expects him to be healthy by the start of training camp, reports the Associated Press.

Carroll confirmed Okung had surgery after Seattle finished picking in the draft Friday night. There were no details given on what Okung had repaired, but he'd been bothered by toe problems during 2013 that saw him miss half the regular season.

Questions about whether Okung had surgery first popped up after he was photographed at the Oklahoma State spring game in early April with his foot in a walking boot.

Carroll said it would be a while before Okung was back with the team but said, "We know we'll have him back for training camp. Maybe a little sooner than that."

Seahawks mum on Kam Chancellor, Russell Okung
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com

Seahawks general manager John Schneider declined to provide injury updates Wednesday on safety Kam Chancellor and left tackle Russell Okung, reports The News Tribune. Chancellor reportedly had an offseason hip procedure, while Okung was spotted recently in a walking boot.

Speaking at his predraft press conference, Schneider said he felt it was not the appropriate time to talk about those players.

Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung was spotted in a walking boot at Oklahoma State's Saturday practice, reports the Seattle Times, which wondered whether Okung recently underwent surgery on his left big toe. Okung missed eight games last season with the toe injury.

Coach Pete Carroll said in February it was unclear whether Okung would require surgery.

Seahawks offensive lineman Russell Okung may undergo another surgery on his toe, something that forced him out of eight games in 2013.

"He had a sore toe the whole time and played through it and did a great job," coach Pete Carroll said according to the Seattle Times
