Bills to trade Kiko Alonso to Eagles for LeSean McCoy
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

The Bills intend to trade linebacker Kiko Alonso to the Eagles for running back LeSean McCoy, CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora confirms. ESPN first reported the news of the trade, which will be a one-for-one deal.

The trade will become official next week, but the Bills have notified Alonso, who was looking to leave Buffalo, that he will be dealt.

Alonso had 159 tackles for the Bills in 2013 but missed all of last season after undergoing successful surgery to repair a torn ACL in July. He said in late February that he expected to be 100 percent before the beginning of camp. The trade reunites Alonso with Eagles coach Chip Kelly, who was his coach at Oregon.

La Canfora added that McCoy may not be pleased with the deal. The Eagles are looking to clear cap space, possibly for a draft day trade for a quarterback. Kelly was reportedly not a fan of McCoy's contract. The running back has a $10.25-million cap hit for 2015.

McCoy has delivered four 1,000-yard rushing seasons in the last five years, most recently rushing for 1,319 yards and five touchdowns in 2014. The Bills have had just one player top 1,000 yards rushing in the last five years.

Eagles RB LeSean McCoy: 'I don't want to take less money'
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy reiterated Thursday that while he'd be willing to restructure his contract if asked, he would not accept a pay cut, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

"I know how hard it is to keep a team together and I want to be part of this team. But I don't want to take less money," McCoy said. "I want to figure a way to make it happen [where] we're all together."

McCoy, who is due to count $11.95 million against the cap in 2015, turned in his fourth 1,000-yard season in the last five years in 2014, finishing with 1,319 rushing yards on 312 carries and 155 receiving yards on a career-low 28 receptions. All five of his touchdowns came on the ground.

LeSean McCoy backs Nick Foles as Eagles' starter in 2015
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy told the NFL Network on Friday that Nick Foles should remain the starter, and that teammates view Foles as a leader in the locker room, per the team's official website.

"I like Nick. The person and player that everybody thought he was, he is. There were a lot of injuries this year, Nick, obviously got injured. He gets all of the blame and he shouldn't," McCoy said. "I think Nick's a good quarterback. He's the leader of our team. Things just didn't work out for him this year due to injury, but we've got his back. As a team, we didn't play well enough to win and get into the playoffs."

Foles took a bit of a step back in 2014 before his season was cut short due to a broken collarbone on Nov. 2. He threw for 2,163 yards with 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in nine games before the injury.

Eagles coach Chip Kelly expressed support for Nick Foles late in the season but did not fully endorse him as the team's quarterback of the future. However, Foles told reporters at the end of the season that he expects to be the man under center in 2015.
