| Giants waive injured DB Jones: The Giants waived safety Chad Jones because of a failed physical, the team announced. Jones was the team's third-round pick in 2010, but he severely injured his leg in a car accident in Louisiana before his first training camp with the Giants and consequently has never appeared in an NFL game. Jones had been hoping to return to the team but was declared unable to participate in a recent rookie minicamp. Giants general manager Jerry Reese still considers the former LSU star a "part of the Giants family," adding, "we'll continue to work with him in his rehab."
