| Barden, Hixon to get shot to shine?: The Giants suffered a bad break when receiver Hakeem Nicks broke a bone in his foot during a late May OTA. That means Nicks won't be ready to even practice until mid-August, opening the door for receivers Rueben Randle, Ramses Barden and Domenik Hixon to see some extra reps with the first-team offense. Hixon is coming off of two ACL tears in as many years, while Barden has fought inconsistency since being drafted in 2009. (Updated 05/24/2012) |

| We think Randle has the best chance to pick up extra practice reps and potentially take over some work from Nicks in the early portion of the season. Barden looks like an intriguing prospect but a slow start to his career makes him tough to trust. Hixon is even more injury prone than Nicks. Neither of the Giants' veteran receivers are worth drafting right now. (Updated 05/24/2012). |
