Mike Mitchell confirmed Friday that he's had surgery on his left shoulder and left hand this offseason, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

With three years remaining on that contract, Mitchell will be back next season, looking to extend his consecutive regular season games started streak, currently at 46, which is the sixth longest active consecutive games played streak among for an NFL free safety.
