Vincent Brown misses third straight practice with calf issue

Chargers wide receiver Vincent Brown missed his third straight practice Monday due to a calf injury, reports.

Brown isn't guaranteed a regular-season roster spot after managing just 41 receptions and 472 yards last season. His continued absence could allow another player to emerge as a potential fourth receiver for the offense.

Chargers' role players contribute

The Chargers got a few minor contributions in their win over Kansas City. Among them, fullback Le'Ron McClain had a 3-yard carry and safety Eric Weddle had a 2-yard run.

Receivers Seyi Ajirotutu and Vincent Brown were each targeted once without a catch.

Chargers get offensive contributions

The Chargers got an array of offensive contributions in their win over the Raiders. Receiver Vincent Brown caught two of five targets for 38 yards, and tight end John Phillips caught a 5-yard pass before leaving with a knee injury.

Tight end Ladarius Green was targeted once without a catch.

Vincent Brown leads the way with 54 yards

Chargers wide receiver Vincent Brown had a solid game in Week 15 against the Broncos Thursday, as he racked up his most yards since Week 5 in a 27-20 win Thursday.

Brown brought in all three passes thrown his way in the game, for a team-high 54 yards. He had a long reception of 32 yards in the game.

Brown hasn't made much of an impact in his second season, but he has played a bigger role than his rookie season. He has 39 receptions for 434 yards and a touchdown heading into Week 16 against the Raiders.

Vincent Brown, Eddie Royal do little in Week 14 win

Chargers wide receivers Vincent Brown and Eddie Royal both failed to make an impact during Sunday's win over the Giants in Week 14.

Brown was targeted four times and finished with three catches for 30 yards while Royal caught three of the four passes thrown his way for only 13 yards. Royal has not been targeted more than four times over his last four games. Brown has just 46 yards combined over his last two games.

The Chargers will travel to Denver for a Week 15 showdown against the Broncos on Thursday night.
