T Kyle Turley, who was placed on injured reserve this week following a series of injuries, announced Tuesday that he would retire at the end of the year. Continuing his crusade to get current players to contribute to the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund -- which attempts to help former NFL players in medical and financial need -- a tearful Turley said he would be joining the ranks of former players next year. After returning from a two-year absence due to a career-threatening back injury, Turley played two seasons in Kansas City. But his back injury returned, along with ankle and other ailments, and Turley played in only seven games this year, five as a starter. He recently said he was experiencing some loss of sensation in his feet and lower legs. 12/19/2007
