James still without team: According to a report on his Twitter account, agent Drew Rosenhaus reports that RB Edgerrin James may not sign with a team until after training camp starts. Said Rosenhaus: "Edge is excited about playing this season and getting back to the Super Bowl." James had been linked to signing with New Orleans, but that has been the only team to express interest in numerous reports.

James may still sign with the Saints, who are looking for a RB to replace the departed Deuce McAllister and could have a need if Reggie Bush (knee) or Pierre Thomas (wrist) remain sidelined. Philadelphia could also make sense with Brian Westbrook (ankle) banged up. We'd like to see James play this season because he could still have value as a reserve Fantasy option, but he should only be drafted in deep leagues if you're drafting before training camp while he's unsigned.

RB Edgerrin James is on the radar of Saints general manager Mickey Loomis, who said the team has held internal discussions about pursuing James, according to NFL.com. James rushed for 12,121 yards in his 10-year career before he was released by the Cardinals last week. "There's been talk about Edgerrin James, and we've spent some time evaluating that prospect," Loomis said. "We'll continue to do that. We haven't made any decision or closed any doors on acquiring another running back if we feel that's something we need to do. We do feel a lot better about what we have in-house than people do outside of our building." Loomis added that the Saints, who have Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas as their top returning backs after releasing Deuce McAllister this winter, will re-visit the situation after their rookie minicamp this weekend. 57//2009
