Panthers' Kawann Short: To attend training camp
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Short will be present when the Panthers begin training camp on July 28, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

Short skipped a few of the Panthers' OTA sessions while negotiating a new long-term contract, but he won't let that situation impact his training camp attendance. After a breakout 11-sack campaign in 2015, Short is now entering the final year of his rookie deal, but will hope to reach a lucrative agreement to remain in Carolina by continuing to display his Pro Bowl-caliber talent this season.

Panthers' Kawann Short: Begins extension talks
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Short and the Panthers have begun talks around a contract extension, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

Short is currently entering the final year of his rookie contract and is destined for a significant payday considering his huge strides since being selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Last season, he emerged as a Pro Bowl-caliber defensive tackle, registering 55 tackles, 11 sacks, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. With cornerback Josh Norman out of the picture, the Panthers have far more financial flexibility to consider while negotiating a much-deserved extension with Short.

Panthers' Kawann Short: Avoids injury report Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Short (knee) wasn't listed on the Panthers' injury report Wednesday.

Short followed up limited showings in practice last week by avoiding the injury report entirely in advance of the Super Bowl. After racking up 13 sacks in 18 games this season (including playoffs), expect the third-year pro to play a key role in pressuring Peyton Manning (foot) on Sunday.

Panthers' Kawann Short: Limited at practice Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kawann Short (knee) was a limited participant at practice Thursday.

Although Short is nursing a minor knee injury, his practice limitation comes as more of a precaution, as his status for the Super Bowl isn't much of a concern at the moment.

Panthers' Kawann Short: Breakout 2015 campaign
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Short finished the 2015 regular season with 55 tackles (36 solo), 11 sacks, three fumbles forced and two fumble recoveries in 16 games played.

Short, a second-round selection in 2013, made strides through his first couple seasons, but enjoyed an incredible, breakout 2015 campaign. His 11 sacks tied for eighth-best across the league, and unlike most his peers, Short did such while playing as an interior defensive lineman. Short's 55 tackles also marked great production for his position, making him one of the better IDP options up front this season, and earning him a Pro Bowl selection along the way.
