Xavier Rhodes had three tackles and an interception in Sunday's win over Green Bay.
The third-year corner out of Florida State plucked his first interception of the season in Sunday's finale to help the Minnesota Vikings wrap up the division crown. He posted career-highs in tackles (58) and passes defensed (11) this season in addition to recording his second career interception. However, his lack of interceptions and passes defensed relative to other IDP options in the secondary have made him a middling option thus far in his career. Still, Rhodes is a talented enough player to where he can begin translating his natural abilities into quantifiable fantasy value next season, which would be perfect timing given it will be the final year of his rookie contract.
Minnesota Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes is active Sunday against the Broncos.Rhodes will be needed if the Vikings hope to contain both Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders . Having him in the lineup is a big boost for the defense.
Minnesota Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes (concussion) is listed as probable for Sunday's game in Denver Pioneers .
A full practice participant throughout the week, Rhodes should be fine for Sunday's tough matchup with Denver Broncos wideouts Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders . Rhodes isn't one of the better IDP options at cornerback, but Sunday's matchup could lead to an unusual number of opportunities for tackles and interceptions, as the Broncos funnel a large percentage of their targets to the aformentioned receivers.
Minnesota Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes (concussion) practiced fully Wednesday, Matt Vensel of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Rhodes sustained a concussion on a vicious collision with teammate Andrew Sendejo on Sunday, but only a day later, head coach Mike Zimmer was expressing his belief that the cornerback would play in Week 4 at Denver.
Proceeding quickly through the protocol for head injuries, Rhodes appears headed down the path to active status. However, owners in IDP formats should keep an eye on him to ensure he's available against the Denver Broncos .
"Actually, he's feeling great today," Zimmer said of Rhodes on Monday. "He's already passed one test [in the NFL's concussion protocol]. I think he should be ready."
Heading into Week 3's action, Rhodes had carved out some IDP utility by recording 13 tackles over the Vikings' first two games. Though he notched just three tackles on Sunday before his exit from the game, it looks like the cornerback has a solid shot to avoid missing any additional time.
