Rueben Randle totals 27 yards on 10 targets Week 3
by Michael Hurcomb |

The Giants made a concerted effort Week 3 against the Texans to get the football to wide receiver Rueben Randle. However, despite a team-high 10 targets, Randle finished with just five catches for 27 yards in a 30-17 win.

Randle was targeted on the first play of scrimmage Sunday and three times on the second drive. By halftime, he had seven targets, but he managed just four catches for 26 yards.

Randle had a chance in the fourth quarter to haul in a 13-yard touchdown pass, but the pass hit him in the chest and he couldn't make the one-handed grab.

Randle has just 11 catches for 67 yards and one touchdown through three games. The Giants are back in action Thursday against the Redskins.

Rueben Randle hauls in 10th career touchdown
by Michael Hurcomb |

Giants wide receiver Rueben Randle notched his 10th career receiving touchdown and recorded a touchdown for the first time in eight games during a 25-14 loss Week 2 vs. Arizona.

Randle ended his touchdown slump when he outleaped Patrick Peterson for a 7-yard touchdown near the sideline in the end zone with 37 seconds left in the first half. It was an impressive catch, as Randle tipped the football to himself and completed the play by grabbing the football with one hand and securing it against his chest.

Randle finished with four catches for 39 yards. He was targeted seven times. The Giants are back in action Week 3 vs. Houston.

Rueben Randle a forgotten man in aerial attack Week 1
by Igor Mello |

Giants wide receiver Rueben Randle was a forgotten man in the aerial attack Week 1 against the Lions.

Randle caught a short pass from Eli Manning for a gain of 7 yards in the first quarter before an illegal use of hands penalty by the third-year receiver wiped the play away. He didn't make his first catch until the second quarter. He was targeted just three times, finishing with two catches for one yard in a 35-14 defeat.

Randle will be seeking more targets, especially in the red zone come Week 2 at home against Arizona. Five of his six touchdown receptions came at home last season.

Rueben Randle could be strong red zone presence for Eli Manning in Week 1
by Igor Mello |

Giants receiver Rueben Randle is hoping to become a strong red zone target for Eli Manning, starting in Week 1 Monday night against Detroit.

Randle had a six-game stretch last season where he found the end zone six times. Unfortunately, that didn't come against the Lions in Week 16. Randle had an average performance against a weak Detroit secondary, as he was limited to four catches for 40 yards.

Wide receivers against the Lions averaged 26.88 Fantasy points per game in standard leagues, which was second-to-last in the league, only ahead of Philadelphia.

Randle should have a favorable matchup, considering how below average Detroit was against wideouts last season. However, it seems as if Eli Manning will enter the season still learning the new offense, which could hurt Randle's numbers. Consider him a flex option at best in Week 1.
