Lions' Andre Roberts: Appears to be Lions' top return man
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Roberts caught his only target for eight yards and operated as the Lions' starting punt and kick returner in the team's 39-35 victory over the Colts on Sunday.

It's unclear whether Roberts completely seized the punt-return job from Golden Tate, considering Tate entered the contest as questionable to play, but Roberts has definitely taken over as the Lions' starting kick returner since the coaching staff wants Ameer Abdullah, last year's kickoff-return man, to solely focus on running back duties in 2016. Regardless, Roberts is an afterthought in Lions' passing game, and, unless that changes, he's therefore an afterthought in fantasy circles as well.

Lions' Andre Roberts: Quiet in preseason loss
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Roberts logged one reception for 14 yards during the Lions' 30-9 preseason loss to the Ravens on Saturday.

The Lions project to carry five wide receivers on their active roster entering the regular season, and Golden Tate, Marvin Jones, Anquan Boldin and TJ Jones appear locked-in. Thus, one job remains up for the taking, and, even though he wasn't particularly impressive on Saturday, Roberts appears poised to claim it for his own due to his veteran presence and capability returning kickoffs, not to mention Detroit's dumping of WR Jeremy Kerley. However, such a role doesn't garner much, if any, fantasy relevance, leaving Roberts squarely off the fantasy radar entering the regular season.

Lions' Andre Roberts: Tallies 57 yards, touchdown in Friday victory
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Roberts totaled 57 yards and a touchdown on three catches in Friday's 30-17 preseason victory over the Steelers and added 36 yards on two kickoff returns.

The 28-year-old receiver hauled in a 28-yard touchdown from Dan Orlovsky right before halftime, capping a seven-play, 81-yard scoring drive. Roberts is working on a team-friendly, one-year deal and competing with fellow veterans Corey Fuller and Jeremy Kerley for a roster spot behind starters Anquan Boldin and Golden Tate.

Andre Roberts: Signs one-year deal with Lions
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Roberts signed a one-year deal with the Lions on Monday, Adam Caplan of ESPN reports.

Roberts was released by the Redskins last month after hauling in 47 passes over 25 games with the team. The 28-year-old drew considerable interest as a free agent, and he'll now head to Detroit, joining a receiving corps that must make up for the loss of Calvin Johnson to retirement. Roberts figures to compete for a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver spot with the likes of Corey Fuller, Jeremy Kerley and TJ Jones. The Lions are also reportedly interested in adding veteran Anquan Boldin, who will visit with the team Monday.

Andre Roberts: Visiting with Bills
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Roberts is visiting the Bills on Thursday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

Released by Washington on Tuesday, the 28-year-old Roberts already has three visits lined up, with the first coming Thursday/Friday in Buffalo. Regardless of where he ends up signing, he'll need to compete for a potential role as the No. 3 or 4 receiver. Roberts caught just 47 passes in 25 games during his two seasons with Washington, eventually getting demoted to fourth or fifth on the wideout depth chart. Buffalo doesn't have any established talent at the position behind starters Sammy Watkins (foot) and Robert Woods.
