The New Orleans Times-Picayune says it's a "safe bet" receiver Joe Morgan will play as the No. 3 receiver for the Saints this season, filling the role previously held by Devery Henderson and Robert Meachem.

Saints coach Sean Payton intimated to the New Orleans Times-Picayune that receiver Joe Morgan could be the team's No. 3 receiver. "It's important to us to stretch the field with our passing game and not be one-dimensional," Payton said. "We'll see."

Saints quarterback Drew Brees singled out receiver Joe Morgan following OTA workouts Tuesday as the No. 3 receiver in New Orleans. When asked about his receiving corps, Brees said Marques Colston and Lance Moore "are the two veteran guys left." He then talked about Morgan before discussing the young receivers. "Joe Morgan coming off what he did last season and now what we’ve seen this offseason, I see him continuing to improve," Brees said. "Beyond that I think it’s wide open in those spots left."
