The Jets waived/injured
After Milliner's fifth-year option was declined in the offseason, his inability to contribute this preseason may have made the decision an easy one for the Jets. If he clears waivers, the 2013 first-round pick could revert to injured reserve, but the two parties may instead seek an injury settlement.
Milliner suffered an injury to his biceps during Friday's preseason tilt with the Redskins, but is back in action on Sunday and reportedly had a number of PBUs during team drills. As expected, the injury proved not serious and Milliner should be full-tilt going forward.
The list of injuries Milliner has had since college is hardly short, so any new issue is concerning. Nevertheless, even if he fully recovers quickly, his IDP value in most leagues is close to nothing.
Milliner has been a huge disappointment since being drafted ninth overall in 2013, with numerous injuries derailing his career thus far. In fact, he's been sidelined for 27 of 48 games since entering the league, and has already undergone surgery on both his Achilles and wrist, which followed the five total procedures he underwent in college. While Milliner will remain with the Jets for the upcoming campaign, he's expected to serve merely as a depth option within their secondary.
