49ers' Eric Reid: Fifth-year option exercised
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Eric Reid 's fifth-year option was exercised by the San Francisco 49ers over the weekend, CSN Bay Area reports.

Reid was entering the final year of his rookie contract, but will have that deal extended into 2017, when he'll earn a base salary of $5.7 million. The 18th overall pick in 2013, Reid was named to the Pro Bowl as a rookie and has started all 47 games of his career at free safety, posting 189 total tackles and seven interceptions along the way.

49ers' Eric Reid: Active Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Eric Reid (shoulder) is listed as active Sunday versus the Bengals, John Dickinson of 95.7 The Game San Francisco reports.

There was little double that Reid would take the field in Week 15 with three full practices under his belt. Over the last four games, he's picked up the pace, tackle-wise, with 27 (21 solo) in addition to a forced fumble.

49ers' Eric Reid: Records 10 tackles for second time this season
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Eric Reid racked up 10 tackles (nine solo) in Sunday's loss to Cleveland.

Reid - who normally doesn't play near the box - recorded 10 tackles for the second time this season due to the Browns constantly reaching the second level with their running game (230 rushing yards). Coincidentally, the other game in which he reached that mark was in week 11 when the Seahawks ran for 255 yards on this defense. Treat these two fantasy-friendly games as anomalies from Reid.

49ers' Eric Reid: Leads team with 10 tackles
by RotoWire Staff | Special to

Reid turned in his best performance of the season, racking up 10 tackles (six solo) in the loss to Seattle on Sunday.

Reid isn't known for having high tackle totals from the safety position, so Sunday's output was a pleasant surprise. It should be taken with a grain of salt, though, as none of the 49ers' linemen or linebackers wanted any business tackling Thomas Rawls (10 missed tackles), who was constantly getting to the second level and forcing Reid to make stops. Treat this game as an anomaly and continue to view Reid as a nonfactor in IDP leagues.

49ers safety Eric Reid records six tackles in Week 2
by Rotowire Staff | Special to

49ers safety Eric Reid led all 49ers with six tackles (all solo) in Sunday's blowout loss to the Steelers.

Reid was one of several San Francisco defensive backs who were burned by Ben Roethlisberger for 369 yards Sunday. The six solo tackles were a decent consolation, but it was an overall poor showing by the 49ers' defense.
