Bernard topped 40 yards receiving for the third consecutive week. Despite entering the season as the Robin to Jeremy Hill's Batman, Bernard's skills as a receiver have led to him topping Hill's total of touches thus far this season, 151 to 149. He also leads Hill in yards from scrimmage, 958 to 544. Hill's one advantage has come on trips to the end zone, where he leads Bernard eight to two. Depending on the state of Hill's ankle, an injury he left Sunday's game with, Bernard may see a few more end zone looks next week.
Giovani Bernard rushed eight times for 36 yards and caught five passes (on eight targets) for 43 yards in Monday night's loss to the Texans.
Bernard's 36 rushing yards marked a game-high, evidencing the struggles both teams endured on the ground Monday night. Fortunately for Bernard's fantasy owners, he was able to salvage some production in the passing game, where his 43 yards actually set a season-high. In Week 11, Bernard and the Cincinnati Bengals have a tough road matchup against the Cardinals.
Giovani Bernard rushed once for 12 yards and caught 2-of-3 targets for 22 more in Sunday's 16-10 win at Pittsburgh.
Bernard surprisingly saw only three touches while fellow running back Jeremy Hill got 16. The two had been splitting touches nearly equally, so it's puzzling to see such a lopsided distribution. Hopefully Bernard will be more involved Thursday when the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals take on the generous Browns run defense.
Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard rushed eight times for 50 yards and a touchdown, and caught a pass for 23 yards Sunday against the Bills.
Bernard made the most of his nine touches, picking up 73 yards while Jeremy Hill got only 69. Both Bernard and Hill scored in this one, and the have been able to produce of late despite being locked in a platoon. He can now rest up as undefeated Cincinnati is on a bye week.
Giovani Bernard rushed 15 times for 80 yards and caught five passes on eight targets for 21 yards Sunday against the Seahawks.
Bernard vastly outplayed Jeremy Hill, who rushed eight times for 13 yards and caught one pass for 12 yards, and he appears the be the top option in the two-back set. Hill can still poach some goal-line touches here and there, but Bernard looks like the one who will get the initial reps before Hill gets his opportunities. Bernard has rushed at least 13 times in four straight games, though he has just one touchdown on the season. Up next is a Week 6 trip to face the Bills before a Week 7 bye.
