Dennard spent Wednesday's practice on the sideline due to a hamstring issue, but with a full return to the field Thursday, it is expected he'll be ready for Week 3's tilt against the Broncos. The cornerback registered three tackles in last week's loss to the Steelers as he serves a reserved role behind starter Adam Jones on the depth chart.
Dennard's hamstring issue isn't expected to be much of a problem for his status for Sunday's game against the Broncos, barring any setbacks. After missing the season opener due to an ankle injury, he notched three tackles (three solo) during Week 2's loss to the Steelers.
Dennard (ankle) is listed as inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Jets, Paul Dehner of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Dennard was a limited participant in practice all week, leading up to a "doubtful" classification Friday. His absence shouldn't significantly shift the Cincinnati defensive alignment, as Dre Kirkpatrick and Adam Jones are slated to take the two starting cornerback spots.
Dennard is doubtful for Sunday's game with an ankle injury.
Dennard has been sidelined with a left ankle sprain since the Bengals first contact practice on Aug. 1 and clearly is still ailing from the injury. Dennard's doubtful status means that Chris Lewis-Harris will likely be allotted more playing time at nickelback in the Bengals' Week 1 matchup against the Jets and their very talented receiving corps.
