Anthony (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, ESPN.com's Mike Triplett reports.
The placement on IR spells the end of a disappointing season for Anthony, who logged just 16 tackles in 10 games after turning in a 112-tackle rookie campaign. Coach Sean Payton indicated that Anthony needed to make significant improvement with his read and recognition skills in order to challenge for a starting role in 2017, so he'll face some pressure entering training camp next fall.
Anthony was inactive for Week 15's game against the Cardinals due to a knee injury, Josh Katzenstein of NOLA.com reports.
Anthony will now have his status in question ahead of Week 16's game against the Buccaneers. Keep an eye on his practice participation as the week goes on.
Following a two-game absence, Anthony returned from a hamstring strain in Week 9 only to aggravate the aforementioned injury prior to the Saints' Week 10 matchup with the 49ers. While he ultimately ended up missing last weekend's action, it appears he has returned to full strength.
Anthony (hamstring) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Anthony will avoid missing his third consecutive game in Week 9, and he should get the start at strongside linebacker.
