Bouman now No. 2 for Jags: The Florida Times-Union reports that since the Jaguars released QB Cleo Lemon on Wednesday, the backup job behind starter David Garrard belongs to Todd Bouman. Bouman will be 37 when training camp opens and is in his 11th year, mostly as a career backup. He has played with six teams and started six games in his career - three each with the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints.

QB Todd Bouman has apparently locked down the Jaguars' backup QB spot to starter David Garrard, following the release of veteran Cleo Lemon on Wednesday. A year ago, the two veteran quarterbacks vied for the job with Lemon sticking with the club and Bouman handed his walking papers. The team thought highly enough of Lemon to award him a three-year, $8.1 million deal that included $3 million in guaranteed money last year. The six-year veteran didn't do a lot to earn his money in 2008, playing in just one game and throwing two incomplete passes. Bouman, who will be 37 when training camp opens in August, is in his 11th season, mostly as a career backup. He has played with six NFL teams and started six games in his 11 years -- three each with the New Orleans Saints and the Minnesota Vikings. 61/8/2009
