DeMeco Ryans 'isn't going anywhere'
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com

Some reports have surfaced speculating DeMeco Ryans might be released, but the Philadelphia Inquirer says the Eagles inside linebacker "isn't going anywhere." Ryans, scheduled to earn $6.8 million in 2014, probably won't even be asked to take a pay cut, the paper said.

"As much as they need Ryans lining the defense up and making stops against the run, they need his leadership perhaps even more," the paper continued. "Ryans commands the most respect in the Eagles locker room and 'forcing' him to take a pay cut would not go over well with the other players."

An exclusive rights free agent, Thornton, 25, is a perfect fit for the Eagles' 3-4 defense and will start again in 2014.

Brandon Graham says he deserves to be a starter
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com

Eagles outside linebacker Brandon Graham, who had four sacks playing just 27 percent of the defensive snaps, told CSNPhilly.com that he deserves to be a starter, in Philadelphia or elsewhere.

“My biggest thing is I just want to be a starter and I definitely deserve that much,” Graham said. “As long as I keep working, I know that day will come.

“I feel real good going into next season. I think I’ve got pretty good film out there.”

The Eagles' first-round pick in 2010, Graham converted to linebacker when Philly switched to a 3-4. He's more suited to play 4-3 defensive end, but still has two years left on his contract. According to the report, Graham would become expendable if Philly drafts a pure 3-4 edge pass rusher.
