Chargers DST turns in average performance Week 2
by Chris Cwik |

The Chargers DST turned in a decent performance Week 2 against the Seahawks.

San Diego was pretty fresh throughout the game, as Seattle's offense had the ball just 17:45 minutes. Despite the lack of possession, Seattle was still able to put 21 points on the board. The Chargers defensive line actually did a decent job creating pressure, but only came up with two sacks against Russell Wilson. Wilson was under pressure more often, but was able to use his legs to escape a number of times. The team forced two fumbles, recovering one.

The Chargers will take on the Bills Week 3.

Chargers list six from defense on injury report
by Chris Towers |

The Chargers have six players from the defensive side of the ball on the injury report for Week 2 against the Seahawks, with two players already ruled out.

Defensive backs Chris Davis (ankle) and Jahleel Addae (hamstring) will both miss Sunday's game, after being forced to miss the entire week in practice.

Additionally, defensive back Brandon Flowers (groin) and linebacker Melvin Ingram (hamstring) are both questionable for the game, as they were both limited in practice. Defensive linemen Corey Liuget and Sean Lissemore are both probable with ankle injuries.

Chargers DST is bench fodder
by Larry Hartstein |

The Chargers DST finished 29th last year while recording just 35 sacks and 17 turnovers. San Diego upgraded over the offseason, adding corner Brandon Flowers and spending three of its first four draft picks on defense.

But there's no reason to start this unit Monday night in Arizona. The Cardinals averaged 27.4 points over their final eight games last year as quarterback Carson Palmer got comfortable in Bruce Arians' offense.
