Chargers strong against poor offense again
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer

One week after limiting the hapless Raiders to six points on 233 yards, the Chargers allowed 24 points and 317 yards to the slightly less hapless Rams in Week 12 -- an OK performance, but nothing especially noteworthy in Fantasy. They made up for it with an abundance of big plays, though, most notably a touchdown by Andrew Gachkar on a fumble recovery in the third quarter. They also had two interceptions and one sack.

In standard CBSSports.com leagues, the Chargers DST has a combined 31 points over its last two games after scoring a combined seven over its previous four. Clearly, it excels with favorable matchups, but it doesn't have those coming up, going against the Ravens, Patriots and Broncos over the next three weeks.

Raiders help Chargers snap out of defensive slump
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

The Chargers defense entered Week 11 against the Raiders riding a bad slump, but snapped out of it in a 13-6 win.

The Raiders offense managed just 233 yards in the game, including a paltry 71 on the ground, as the Chargers dominated things from the start. The Chargers allowed two field goals in the game, while forcing one turnover and recording a pair of sacks of rookie quarterback Derek Carr.

The Chargers DST unit managed 16 Fantasy points in Sunday's game, after having just 7 in their previous four games combined. Their next matchup could yield positive results as well, with the Rams on the schedule in Week 12.

Chargers announce several defensive roster moves Saturday
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

The Chargers announced several roster moves on Saturday.

The team added linebacker Melvin Ingram to the 53-man active roster, as expected. Ingram missed the first seven games of the season because of a hip injury. Rookie cornerback Jason Verrett was placed on the season-ending injured reserve list with a shoulder injury. Verrett will undergo surgery to repair his left labrum, which was torn in three different places, according to U-T San Diego.

Meanwhile, in corresponding moves, the team waived outside linebacker Cordarro Law and promoted safety Adrian Phillips from the practice squad.

Chargers defense falters again
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

The Chargers defense struggled yet again Sunday, in a 37-0 loss to the Dolphins in Week 9.

The Dolphins offense moved the ball at will against the Chargers, racking up 441 yards of total offense and jumping out to a 20-0 lead at halftime. They ultimately made seven trips to the red zone and could have come away with an even more lopsided score, but the Dolphins settled for field goals on four of those seven trips. The Chargers DST unit failed to record a single turnover or sack in the loss.

The Chargers DST racked up eight or more Fantasy points in each of the first five games of the season, but has been a disaster recently. They head into the Week 10 bye with just seven total Fantasy points over the last four games.
