Waters had his arm in a sling Tuesday but says it's a minor injury, Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
The cornerback did not offer any specifics on the injury but it will be something to keep an eye on as training camp nears. Before he got hurt, Waters was apparently playing well in OTAs.
After he was unable to make the team out of training camp, Waters landed on the Packers' practice squad, from which he's been practicing as a cornerback since Week 2 and identified as a member of the positional group since Week 5. Because Makinton Dorleant (knee) was placed on IR on Wednesday and the statuses of Damarious Randall (knee) and Quinton Rollins (concussion) are up in the air, Waters could play a key role in the coverage schemes during Sunday's wild-card game versus the Giants.
An undrafted rookie, Waters is unlikely to take on any significant role during the Packers' playoff run. The receiver will replace injured teammate Makinton Dorleant (knee) ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants.
Waters was released by the Packers on Saturday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Waters spent all of training camp with the Packers after signing as an undrafted free agent, but he faced long odds to make the cut given the team's depth at his position, and ended up on the outside looking in. He is a candidate for the practice squad, however.
