The Colts dominated the Titans defensively, taking advantage of backup quarterback Charlie Whitehurst's limitations as a passer. The Titans managed just 261 yards of total offense in the game, and Whitehurst was sacked three times. The Colts also accounted for three turnovers, including a pair of interceptions.
The Colts offense allowed 61 points over the first two games of the season, before a pair of matchups with the Jaguars and Titans allowed them to turn things around. They face a tougher test with the Ravens on the schedule for Week 5.
Indianapolis shut down Jacksonville until Blake Bortles entered the game. Bortles managed two scores against the Indy DST. It wasn't all bad, as they also picked off Bortles for a touchdown late in the contest. The team racked up four sacks, two interceptions and one fumble during the game.
The Colts DST will look for more Week 4 against the Titans.
The Colts have already dealt with issues stopping the run in the team's first two games, and Jones' absence could mean their defensive woes could continue. Fortunately, the team faces a juicy matchup against the pedestrian Jaguars offense in Week 3.
