Seahawks add defensive backfield help

The Seahawks added defensive back Phillip Adams on a one-year deal Thursday, as first reported by  Adams spent the last two season with the Raiders, finishing the 2013 season with 30 tackles, one fumble recovery and one pass defense.

Kam Chancellor set for 'minor' surgery

Seahawks defensive back Kam Chancellor is set to undergo a minor surgical procedure to clean up an issue in his hip, according to The procedure has not been schedule, but it is not considered a severe injury that needs to be fixed.

Chancellor had 99 tackles and three interceptions last season, and is expected to be healthy in time for the start of the season.

Seahawks sign Jared Allen

Defensive end Jared Allen has agreed to sign with the Seahawks, reports ESPN.

Allen has 128.5 career sacks, ranking him 12th in NFL history. He has seven consecutive double-digit sack seasons, including 11.5 last season for the Vikings.

Seahawks place second-round tender on Jeron Johnson

The Seahawks gave defensive back Jeron Johnson a second-round tender Tuesday, reports Johnson is expected to garner interest as a restricted free agent, but would stand to make $2.187 million next season if he signed the tender from Seattle.

Johnson has mostly been a reserve in Seattle, recording 15 tackles and a force fumble in 24 games.

Report: Seahawks to release Red Bryant

The Seahawks will release defensive lineman Red Bryant, saving $5.5 million in cap room, reports Fox Sports. Bryant, who turns 30 in April, had 31 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 15 games last season.
