Moss sheds weight for slot move: Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan told the media last weekend that wideout Santana Moss had lost 15 pounds, likely in an attempt to regain his speed. Speculation is that Moss might move into the slot this season. But it's also worth noting that when asked who his starting receivers would be, Shanahan didn't say Moss' name and did mention Pierre Garcon, Josh Morgan and Leonard Hankerson before giving Moss a compliment. “He’s come in as good a shape as he’s come in the last few years according to him,” the coach said. Fantasy Analysis
Had Moss shown up in rough shape, he probably wouldn't be on the roster. And even though Shanahan didn't mention Moss' name when talking about starters, Morgan and Hankerson are both coming off of injuries, so it might just be a matter of time before Moss (who himself got hurt last year) gets some regular playing time. The deep receiving corps mixed in with rookie Robert Griffin III starting for the Skins makes Moss a risky Fantasy option. He'll probably slip in drafts to the middle/late rounds and be suitable as a reserve receiver. (Updated 05/07/2012).
