  • Amari Rodgers: Cut by Colts

Indianapolis waived Rodgers on Friday. Rodgers logged a season-high 20 offensive snaps Week 6 versus Jacksonville, but he saw only two targets and didn't bring in either one. Those were the only two targets the wideout was gotten over three contests on the campaign. The Colts claimed cornerback Ameer Speed off waivers from New England in a move corresponding with Rodgers' departure.

  • Colts' Amari Rodgers: Increased role

Rodgers was targeted twice in the passing game but had no receptions in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville. Rodgers played on 20 of the offense's 78 snaps as he got more plaing time with Alec Pierce suffering a shoulder injury. Rodgers had played just five snaps on offense this season before Sunday. If Pierce is to miss time, it may be Isaiah McKenzie who gets a larger role since he's been more productive as a pass catcher (two receptions Sunday while playing just four snaps on offense), but Rodgers was the player working more as the third and fourth receiver Sunday.

  • Colts' Amari Rodgers: Joins Indianapolis roster

Indianapolis signed Rodgers off its practice squad Tuesday. Rodgers played just four snaps in his 2023 debut Sunday, but the Colts evidently saw enough to promote him to the active roster with Ashton Dulin (knee) on injured reserve. Rookie third-rounder Josh Downs has struggled a bit to find his footing out of the slot up to this point, so Rodgers may be closer to the field than it appears.

  • Amari Rodgers: Reverts to practice squad

Rodgers reverted to the Colts' practice squad Monday. Rodgers played four offensive snaps Sunday against the Rams but recorded no stats. He joined the Colts' practice squad on Aug. 31 after splitting time with the Packers and Texans last season.

  • Colts' Amari Rodgers: Elevated to active roster

The Colts elevated Rodgers to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Rams, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Rodgers' elevation is his first of the season. He projects to provide depth at receiver while also chipping in on special teams. It will be his first time suiting up since last season's stint with the Texans.

  • Amari Rodgers: Back in Indy

The Colts signed Rodgers to the practice squad Wednesday. Rogers was once a well-regarded prospect but has had trouble finding his footing in the NFL. He did appear in 16 games in 2022, tallying 16 receptions for 204 yards and one touchdown split between the Packers and Texans. He could have landed in the right spot to have a chance to contribute, as the Colts currently have only four healthy receivers on their depth chart.

  • Colts' Amari Rodgers: Picked up by Indianapolis

Rodgers agreed to terms with the Colts on Wednesday. The 2021 third-round pick has found his third home in two years after being waived by both the Packers and Texans. Rodgers has tallied 20 receptions for 249 yards and one touchdown in his career, but he's mainly been a return man, as he's recorded 626 return yards. He's had issues holding onto the ball, fumbling eight times in just two years, but expect Indianapolis' newest receiver to compete for the kick and punt returner job ahead of the coming season.

  • Amari Rodgers: Gets cut loose

Rodgers was waived by the Texans on Sunday. Rodgers saw action in six contests for Houston last season, after being waived by the Packers midseason. He finished his time with the Texans having caught 12 of 17 targets for 154 yards and a touchdown. A third-round selection out of Clemson in 2021, Rodgers has yet to carve out a steady role for himself in two seasons. He'll now work to earn an opportunity elsewhere.

  • Texans' Amari Rodgers: Serves as third wideout

Rodgers caught two of three targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 30-24 overtime loss to Kansas City. Rodgers, who caught four passes and his first career touchdown in Week 14, once again benefitted from Brandin Cooks (calf) and Nico Collins (foot) being unavailable. He was third among wideouts in playing time (32 snaps), behind Chris Moore (55) and Phillip Dorsett (54), and he out-targeted Dorsett for a second straight week.

  • Texans' Amari Rodgers: Could step in as No. 3 wideout

Rodgers is expected to serve as one of the Texans' top three receivers in Sunday's game against the Cowboys with Brandin Cooks (calf) and Nico Collins (foot) both ruled out, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. After being claimed off waivers from the Packers on Nov. 16, Rodgers was inactive for the Texans' subsequent two games before finally getting the chance to make his debut in last week's loss to the Browns. Rodgers went without a target on 17 snaps, but his playing time and involvement in the passing game can only go up while Texans starting quarterback Davis Mills is without his top two wideouts this week. Phillip Dorsett and Chris Moore are ahead of Rodgers on the depth chart and are likely to fill in for Cooks and Collins on the perimeter, potentially leaving Rodgers to handle the slot role that has typically been Moore's domain when Houston has its receiving corps at full health.

  • Texans' Amari Rodgers: Not suiting up Sunday

Rodgers (coach's decision) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against Washington. Rodgers was claimed off waivers from Green Bay on Wednesday, but he'll require more practice time before he's game ready for Houston. The 23-year-old caught four of eight targets for 50 yards in 10 games with the Packers this season. He also worked as both a kickoff and punt returner but was waived after his fifth fumble of the campaign.

  • Texans' Amari Rodgers: Picked up by Houston

The Texans claimed Rodgers off waivers from the Packers on Wednesday, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports. Rodgers will end up with Houston just one day after being waived by Green Bay, where he struggled with special-teams turnovers while failing to provide much receiving production during his first two seasons. Now, the 2021 third-round pick could have a chance to turn things around thanks to this change of scenery, as the Texans' primary punt returner, Desmond King, has averaged just 6.9 yards over 13 attempts this season. Rodgers should also compete with veterans Chris Moore, Phillip Dorsett and Tyron Johnson for the Texans' No. 3 receiving role behind starters Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins.

  • Amari Rodgers: Time over in Green Bay

The Packers waived Rodgers on Tuesday. Green Bay's decision to move on from Rodgers comes after he played just six snaps on offense and lost his second fumble of the season while returning a punt in Sunday's 31-28 overtime win over Dallas. Green Bay's receiving corps could get healthier this week with the possible return of Randall Cobb (ankle) from injured reserve, and with Rodgers having lost trust as a return man, the move doesn't come as a major surprise. A 2021 third-round pick out of Clemson, Rodgers will end his stint in Green Bay with just eight receptions over 26 regular-season games.

  • Packers' Amari Rodgers: Loses work in Week 10

Rodgers played six snaps on offense in Sunday's 31-28 overtime victory over the Cowboys but was not targeted. He also returned two punts for 13 yards and lost a fumble. Rodgers averaged 20.3 snaps over Weeks 6-9, but he was fazed out Week 10 with four of his fellow receivers soaking up nearly all the snaps played by Packers wideouts. Rodgers also lost snaps on special teams, as he was pulled in favor of Keisean Nixon after losing a fumble for the second time this season. Rodgers was selected in the third round of the 2021 Draft, and the Packers have given him chances to contribute. However, he hasn't capitalized and could be running out of opportunities to do so.

  • Packers' Amari Rodgers: Active in Week 10

Rodgers (quadriceps) is active for Sunday's Week 10 clash against the Cowboys, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Rodgers popped up on the injury report Friday after participating in limited fashion in that day's practice, but he'll be available to Aaron Rodgers on a day when both Randall Cobb (IR-ankle) and Romeo Doubs (ankle) will be absent from the pass-catching corps. Rodgers still figures to slot into a relatively modest role, however, as he's produced just a 4-50 line on eight targets through nine games.

  • Packers' Amari Rodgers: Remains in bit role

Rodgers was targeted three times and caught two passes for 14 yards in Sunday's 23-21 loss to the Commanders. He also returned two punts for 16 yards, fumbled twice and lost one of them. The target, reception and yardage totals all set or tied career highs for Rodgers, who played around 30 percent of the snaps for a second straight week but again played only a small role in the offense. Even on a day when the Packers were down two wideouts and lost another mid-game, Rodgers finished fifth among Packers receivers with 16 offensive snaps, so he remains tough to trust from a fantasy perspective.

  • Packers' Amari Rodgers: Inefficient in preseason victory

Rodgers recorded two receptions on five targets for five yards in Friday's 20-10 preseason win over the Saints. He added two rushes for 15 yards and also served as the team's primary punt returner. Rodgers had a busy game and appeared all over the stat sheet. He was inefficient as a receiver, though he seemingly had an 18-yard reception that was ultimately overturned upon review. The Packers also made a point to get Rodgers involved in the offense, as he received two carries while returning two punts for a total of nine yards. Rodgers isn't likely to open the season with a substantial offensive role, though he should make the roster based on his special-teams contributions.

  • Packers' Amari Rodgers: Still not seeing many snaps

Rodgers had one reception for seven yards and one carry for 11 yards in Thursday's 24-21 victory over the Cardinals. He also returned two punts for 12 yards. With the Packers down their top three wideouts Thursday, Rodgers was on the field for a season-high 16 snaps, and that allowed him to see three targets in the passing game and a season-high two touches on offense. While the rookie third-round pick made a couple positive plays, he was only on the field for 22 percent of the snaps and finished fourth among Packers wideouts in that department. Rodgers could continue getting chances to make plays here or there, but his playing time percentage suggests he will only get a handful of snaps again when his fellow receivers return.

  • Packers' Amari Rodgers: Snags second reception

Rodgers caught his only target for 14 yards in Sunday's 24-14 victory over the Bears. He also returned two punts for 16 yards. Rodgers has not had many opportunities to contribute in his rookie season, but he made a couple key plays Sunday, picking up good yardage on a punt return in the second quarter and also picking up a first down on a short pass in the third. Despite the positives, he figures to remain in a bit role for the Packers.

  • Packers' Amari Rodgers: Solid showing Saturday

Rodgers caught four of five targets for 31 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Jets. With the Packers resting most of their starters, Rodgers saw plenty of snaps with the first-team offense but didn't post particularly great numbers with third-string QB Kurt Benkert under center. The 2021 third-round pick should have a spot on the Week 1 roster, but Green Bay's depth at wide receiver could make it tough for him to get much attention from Aaron Rodgers.
