| Peelle lands in San Fran: The 49ers signed free agent TE Justin Peelle on Tuesday. He worked out for them on Monday. He’s 32, 6-4, 255 pounds and a nine-year veteran who’s primarily a blocking specialist. The team had only two tight ends on their roster and had to use a sixth offensive lineman in short-yardage situations a few times against Seattle. To make room for Peelle on the roster, the team waived rookie S Colin Jones, their sixth-round pick out of TCU. (Updated 09/14/2011) |
