OG Pete Kendall was the only offensive lineman to start every game for the Redskins in 2007 and 2008. But it's very unlikely that Kendall will rejoin the others in Washington this fall. Although the Redskins didn't draft a lineman, they spent large to re-sign his predecessor at left guard, Derrick Dockery, and they want to prepare such youngsters as 2008 rookies Chad Rinehart and Devin Clark to succeed their 30-something starters. Offensive line coach Joe Bugel is happy with their progress and that of practice squad player Rueben Riley. Washington also signed Jeremy Bridges after the former Arizona and Carolina starting guard had been impressive on a tryout basis during the May 1-3 minicamp. 52/1/2009

Kendall and New York Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce were each fined $5,000 by the NFL on Friday for their actions during a push-and-shove incident in the teams' season opener.
