L.J. seems focused on football: The Kansas City Star reports that Chiefs RB Larry Johnson worked at the team's recent minicamp without incident, keeping a low profile and politely requesting to not be interviewed. This is quite a change from earlier this offseason when he requested a trade, and the thinking is that Johnson has bought into the team's philosophy and offense, focused on being a quality part of the team this season.

Fantasy Analysis

After missing practice two weeks ago, it's nice to see Johnson involved in minicamp and not sounding off. The reality is that Johnson has some major upside working in the Chiefs' new offense as orchestrated by new head coach Todd Haley. That makes him a decent option as a middle- to low-end No. 2 Fantasy RB. He's worth a pick between Rounds 4 and 5 at this point.

RB Larry Johnson has gotten the attention of the coaching staff with his participation in the off-season program and how well he's run the ball. "Larry is working hard," said head coach Todd Haley. "He has made some runs in the last few practices that I thought were pretty special and showed signs of somebody who can run the football. I was very encouraged and a couple of those flashed at me and the coaches to where you say, ???that was pretty good.' If Larry continues to work, stay on point and do the things asked of him, I think he will definitely have a chance to help us." 52/8/2009
