DT Kevin Williams could retire if Seahawks win
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com

Seahawks defensive tackle Kevin Williams did not rule out retiring if his team beats the Patriots in Super Bowl 49, reports the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Williams, 34, is a six-time Pro Bowler and five-time First-Team All-Pro.

He played in every game this season, recording 22 tackles, three sacks and two pass breakups.

DT Kevin Williams' adjustment was key for Seahawks
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com

Seahawks defensive tackle Kevin Williams played his normal position, the three-technique, during the first nine games this season. When nose tackle Brandon Mebane suffered a season-ending hamstring injury, Williams moved over to replace him.

A six-time Pro Bowler at the three-technique, Williams started the final nine games, including playoffs, at nose tackle. He stabilized the defensive front and finished with 30 tackles and three sacks.

“It’s kind of unique how things happened,” Williams told the team's website. “You come in to help contribute wherever you can, you lose one of your starting players to injury and you’re moving to the nose. I’m just trying to do whatever I’m called upon to do and make plays.”

Williams is headed to his first Super Bowl after winning two playoff games during his 11-year tenure in Minnesota.

"It’s awesome, man,” Williams said. “I’m still kind of in a little disbelief, how we got it done and how the game unfolded. I was happy [Sunday night]. Now I’m back to concentrating on let’s get this other win now.”
