Bodden inks deal with Patriots: Cornerback Leigh Bodden agreed to a one-year contract with the Patriots on Tuesday for the veteran's minimum of $750,000. Bodden told Sirius NFL Radio he settled for the one-year deal after seeking a long-term contract because he wanted to be a Patriot. "I am just excited I finally got something done with them," Bodden said. "We just got the one-year deal done and I am excited to go play with Bill (Belichick) and the Patriots and have a great year. The Patriots always are destined to make the playoffs and hopefully I can shoot for that, make the playoffs, play good in the playoffs and hit free agency again. I'd rather not, New England is a great team and I would rather re-sign with them, and hopefully we can come to terms during the season. If not, then after the season."

Fantasy Analysis
Bodden was traded from Cleveland to Detroit last year for defensive tackle Shaun Rogers and had one interception for the Lions, who were the first NFL team to finish a season 0-16. The Lions cut Bodden after the season. When he played for the Browns in their 3-4 defense, he was outstanding. When he played for the Lions and their 4-3 scheme, he stunk. We think he'll be a solid addition to the Patriots secondary, but not productive enough to warrant Fantasy use as anything more than a one-week replacement DB off the waiver wire.
