Bears get down to 52 Sat. : The Chicago Bears cut a pair of first-day draft picks in the 2007 NFL Draft in DE Dan Bazuin and LB Michael Okwo on Saturday. Among the other cuts to get the roster down to 53 players were: DE Ervin Baldwin, CB Trey Brown, DE Joe Clermond, WR Mike Hass, LB Joey LaRocque, TE Fontel Mines, DE Nick Osborn, S Leonard Peters, RB P.J. Pope, WR Brandon Rideau and TE Marcus Stone.

Fantasy Analysis

Bazuin, selected in the second round in '07, lost his entire rookie season to a knee injury and was not deemed ready to contribute to the Bears this season. Okwo, a third-round selection last season, never saw any regular season action as a Bear either. Both should have no Fantasy value and should be avoided this season. Of the remaining players, Rideau was among the leaders in the preseason in the NFL in touchdown catches with three, but also will only have Fantasy value if he catches on elsewhere, which is unlikely. No one else is worth any Fantasy value at all.
