Booker to work with Westbrook out: The Eagles have confirmed that RB Brian Westbrook will have surgery on Friday to remove bone spurs from his right ankle. As a result, Westbrook is expected to miss the start of training camp and could be a question mark heading into the regular season. Rookie RB LeSean McCoy has already been sharing first-team reps with third-year rusher Lorenzo Booker; both should see extensive playing time in the preseason.

Fantasy Analysis

The roller coaster ride continues with Booker, who was once a sleeper in Fantasy then had a dud year with the Eagles in 2008. If he can progress on and off the field with the team, then he'll have the chance to carve out a role with the offense. But as a decent third-down back, he's not expected to ratchet up stats for your Fantasy team. He remains a low-end flier worth a late-round pick in the deepest of leagues.

RB Lorenzo Booker considers himself the Eagles' No. 2 running back, even if the coach does not. Coach Andy Reid referred to LeSean McCoy, the team's second-round pick in the April draft, as the backup to starter Brian Westbrook. The depth chart on the Eagles' Web site also lists McCoy as the No. 2 running back, ahead of Booker. But Booker, who had just 26 touches last season after being acquired from the Miami Dolphins on Draft Day '08 for a fourth-round pick, insisted none of that matters. "For me to start sweating, you've got to take my job," he said. "Come take my job. If you can take it, then take it. We'll see. That's what the whole point of (training) camp and all that is." 52/8/2009
