OT Jammal Brown, a two-time Pro Bowl tackle, was placed on injured reserve, ending his season. Brown, a five-year veteran, didn't play in the first three games after having two surgical procedures in a three-week period. He had sports hernia surgery in August and then had to have a procedure done on his hip on Sept. 11. Saints officials had hoped that Brown, who for the last three years has capably protected Drew Brees' blind side from his left tackle spot, would be back in late October. But they decided to shut him down after it was determined that Brown would be out about 12 weeks.The 6-foot-6, 313-pound Brown, a solid run blocker as well, has started all 58 games he's played in since being selected 13th overall in the 2005 draft by the Saints. He was voted to the Pro Bowl in 2006 and again in '08. 93/0/2009

The New Orleans Saints have placed Brown, a former Pro Bowl left tackle, on injured reserve because of his hip injury, ending his season.
