Lions not concerned about Reggie Bush's lackluster preseason
by Larry Hartstein |

Lions running back Reggie Bush has dropped two passes and is averaging 2.0 yards per carry on five rushes this preseason. Bush will get a chance to find his rhythm Friday against the Jaguars, though coach Jim Caldwell says he's not worried.

"You see we haven’t played him a whole lot, either, at this point," Caldwell told the Detroit Free Press. "But I’m not concerned about him and what he can do, what he’s capable of doing. He’s done it for so many years, year in and year out, he’ll do the same thing again this year. He’ll be a standout for us."

Reggie Bush does little in preseason opener
by Igor Mello |

Lions running back Reggie Bush was not needed for much of Saturday's preseason opener against the Browns.

Bush only worked the opening series with the first-team offense. He ripped a 4-yard run and lost a yard on his second and final touch of the night. He finished with two carries for three yards and was held without a grab despite being targeted once in the first series of offense.

Reggie Bush says he can play several more years
by Larry Hartstein |

Lions running back Reggie Bush, 29, said there's no reason he can't play several more years. "I wasn’t taking a huge pounding early on in my NFL career," he told the San Diego Union-Tribune. "I didn’t get a lot of carries. I wasn’t getting 20 to 30 carries. I was splitting time a lot. I think that kind of helped me in the long run. I went through my share of injuries, but I still feel pretty good."

Bush ran for 1,006 yards last year and caught 54 passes, his most since 2007.

Reggie Bush says new Lions offense same as the Saints offense
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer

Reggie Bush said Wednesday that the new Lions offense is "exactly the same" as the Saints offense he was used in back when he was in New Orleans.

"The new system, like I said, I played in the system five years in New Orleans so all the terminology's pretty much the same to me," Bush told the Detroit Free Press. "We definitely have what it takes to be an explosive offense, just as we were last year. Just got to clean up doing the little things right and we'll be OK."

In five years with the Saints, Bush played in 60 games and averaged 34.8 rush yards and 35.7 receiving yards per contest with 29 total touchdowns. It remains to be seen if Bush will be used exactly the same way or if he'll continue to work as a traditional running back in addition to as a receiver out of the backfield.
