As Aaron Rodgers goes, so goes Jordy Nelson
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer

If you hadn't heard, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was off to a slow start this season. I say "was" because he put a definitive end to that with his four-touchdown, 302-yard performance Week 4 at Chicago. And Jordy Nelson was there to bask in the glory.

Nelson had 10 catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns. In Rodgers' only other big game Week 2 against the Jets, Nelson had nine catches for 209 yards and a touchdown. The correlation is impossible to miss.

As Rodgers goes, so goes Nelson. Just like Rodgers' struggles Week 3 at Detroit were excusable given how the Lions have performed against the pass this season, so were Nelson's. And their struggles Week 1 at Seattle (more Rodgers' than Nelson's in that case) were a given.

The Packers offense has done as it's supposed to this season, and Nelson is as big a part of that offense as ever. You should count on him being a No. 1 wide receiver the rest of the way.

Jordy Nelson scores twice in blowout of Bears
by Marty Gitlin |

Packers explosive wideout Jordy Nelson certainly made the most of his game-high 12 targets Sunday against an overwhelmed Chicago secondary.

Nelson snagged a 3-yard touchdown pass off a fade route from Aaron Rodgers five minutes into the second quarter and added an 11-yarder in the right corner of the end zone at 4:28 of the third to give him three scores on the season. He was quite busy throughout in leading both teams with 10 catches for 108 yards. He caught seven for 81 yards in the middle quarters.

He will seek to frustrate another division foe when the team hosts Minnesota on Thursday night.

Jordy Nelson held in check Week 3
by Chris Cwik |

Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson was held in check Week 3 against the Lions.

Nelson led the team in receiving yards and catches, but both figures were off his normal dominant numbers. Nelson hauled in five balls for 59 yards. He was also targeted a team-high seven times. The Lions did a solid job against Nelson most of the game, making it tough for Rodgers to get the ball to his best option.

Nelson will look for more Week 4 against the Bears.

Jordy Nelson delivers career-high 209 yards in Week 2 win
by R.J. White |

Packers wide recevier Jordy Nelson caught nine of his 16 targets for a career-high 209 yards and a touchdown in his team's 31-24 win over the Jets in Week 2.

Nelson already had 110 yards on the day before fooling a defender on a double move for 80 yards and a touchdown in the third quarter. It's staggering that he could have had an even bigger performance after catching just 56 percent of his targets. Nelson has been a beast in the early-going, racking up 18 catches on 30 targets for 292 yards and a touchdown. He'll look to keep rolling in Week 3 when the Packers travel to Detroit to face the Lions.

Jordy Nelson picks up yards despite tough matchup
by Chris Cwik |

Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson managed a solid game despite a tough matchup Week 1.

Nelson led the team in receiving, catching nine passes for 83 yards during the contest. He was clearly Aaron Rodgers’ favorite receiver, leading the team with 14 targets. The Packers moved Nelson away from Richard Sherman throughout the game, ensuring he would make some plays. Green Bay did not throw a pass near Sherman during the game. Despite Nelson getting more favorable matchups, the Seahawks did a tremendous job limiting big plays. Nelson’s longest catch of the night went for just 16 yards. He averaged 9.2 yards per catch.

Nelson will take on the Jets Week 2.
