| QB D.J. Shockley was waived by the Falcons last week to free him up to sign with another team before NFL training camps begin later this month. Meanwhile, he has been invited to attend the minicamp for the Omaha Nighthawks of the UFL. Shockley, a seventh-round pick of the Falcons in 2006, never played a regular-season game for the team. His release marked the third time the Falcons waived him in four seasons with the team. He was released following training camp in 2009, but was signed to the practice squad. He was also released last October and signed to the practice squad in December. Shockley was the emergency quarterback for all 16 games in 2006 and 2008.
