Smith should be slot receiver: The Giants have lost WR Plaxico Burress and Amani Toomer this year. So Newsday reports Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride said the team will go through the spring with Domenik Hixon and Steve Smith considered the starting receivers. When the Giants go to three receivers, Smith will move to the slot and Sinorice Moss will take his place. Those three players have a combined five career touchdowns. "There's no extra challenges from the standpoint of having a bunch of young guys," WR coach Mike Sullivan said. "In the one sense, it is kind of energizing because they bring a lot of extra energy and motivation and that's something I think I'll feed off of."

Fantasy Analysis
This is good news for Smith, who is the WR we like the most for the Giants coming into the year. He's not going to score a lot of touchdowns, but he should be great in leagues where receptions count. For now, consider Smith a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR and draft him with a late-round pick. This is his third year in the NFL, so this could be his breakout season.
