Falcons lose James to concussion: Lingering symptoms from a concussion have forced rookie linebacker Robert James to be shut down for the season by the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons waived James, a fifth-round draft pick from Arizona State, on Tuesday after a specialist determined the linebacker was not recovering from a concussion as well as expected.

LB Robert James (concussion) was medically cleared to participate in offseason workouts. James led Arizona State with 106 tackles. He was a fifth round pick, 138th overall in 2008. James, who was nicknamed "The Beast" in college, was a fifth round pick last season. He missed the season with a head injury. The Falcons are in the midst of re-vamping the linebacking unit.
